About The Position

Rag & Bone is seeking a Design Director to lead the design and development of the White Label Wovens business. This role is crucial in shaping the everyday essentials that anchor rag & bone Men’s, focusing on a casual, everyday, refined expression rooted in American workwear and utility. The White Label lifestyle is the foundation of rag & bone Men’s, built around a core casual wardrobe of washed dry goods. This position will oversee Outerwear, Tailoring, Non-Denim Bottoms, and Shirting categories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, or related field experience.
  • 8+ years of wovens design experience.
  • Proven experience leading design direction for a full product line, including managing and mentoring designers.
  • Creative thinker with a strong, confident point of view and a passion for menswear.
  • Expert technical knowledge of Wovens product (outerwear, tailoring, bottoms, shirting).
  • Strong understanding of textiles, materials, and trims.
  • Must be extremely organized, have ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with White Label or private label design a strong plus — comfortable balancing brand voice with partner and licensee requirements.
  • Knowledge of Miro a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trend & vintage research based on seasonal inspiration and brand lifestyle direction.
  • Set and own original sketches, color-ups, and material suggestions for the White Label Outerwear, Tailoring, Non-Denim Bottoms, and Shirting categories – setting design direction for the wovens line.
  • Complete techpacks/design sheets for tech hand-offs, ensuring accuracy and clarity for the technical design team. Oversee seasonal trim design & development.
  • Attend weekly fittings from prototype-production, ensuring fit, construction, and material accuracy at each product stage.
  • Present design concepts at sketch, prototype, and SMS stages to the Head of Men’s Design and Creative Director. Clearly communicate inspiration & ideas to the internal design team and cross-functional partners.
  • Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital versions); keeping boards consistently updated after meetings & fittings.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members in merchandising, product development, and tech design to ensure brand alignment.
  • Support design team as needed to organize and prep for meetings, ie: sketch reviews, proto reviews, market reviews – using key dates and calendar set up with the SVP & Head of Men’s Design.
  • Influence the holistic execution of the White Label offering across all categories through cross-functional peers to drive cohesion of the total lifestyle.
