Jack Morton is looking for a Design Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award-winning Environmental Designs and has experience leading a team of designers. We are looking for someone with the ability to generate thoughtful design concepts that translate into compelling branded live experiences. Stage and event experience are a plus for this role.

Requirements

  • BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or other relevant degree; or 10+ years relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics Accounting software; Microsoft Office suite of software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands a plus
  • Stage and event experience are a plus for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences
  • Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Immerse yourself in the brand and audience to inspire your design
  • Be responsible, organized and accountable the work of your team
  • Understanding of materials, building techniques and construction drawings
  • Create control packages for estimation
  • Understand how to work within budgets and regulations
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Communicate feedback to team members in a constructive fashion
  • Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization
  • Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism and authenticity
  • Stay current with design trends and apply them to your work where relevant
  • Directly supervises 1-5 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
