About The Position

At Jack Morton, we create and build brand experiences that are head-turning, smile-inducing, and impact-driving. We aim to redefine what experiential can achieve, helping clients unlock the full value of experiences. This role is for a passionate Design Director with an uncompromising eye for environmental design, who will help shape culturally relevant experiences for iconic brands, particularly in the automotive space. The Design Director will transform ambitious ideas into sophisticated three-dimensional brand environments across various sectors including sports, travel, art, hospitality, and culture. This hybrid role requires cultural curiosity combined with exceptional craft.

Requirements

  • 7+ years designing experiential environments for culturally driven brands.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, industrial design, environmental design, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and construction documentation.
  • Experience leading designers while mentoring and elevating creative teams.
  • Ability to say “yes” more than “no”.
  • Confidence and polish required to partner with top-tier clients.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-style environments.
  • Ability to raise the standard for both the work and the people around you.
  • Generous with ideas, thoughtful in collaboration, and invested in the success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design compelling 3D environments that translate brand strategy into immersive, unforgettable experiences.
  • Present creative concepts with clarity, confidence, and conviction, inspiring clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure all design decisions, including architecture, spatial planning, materials, finishes, furnishings, and graphics, form a cohesive vision.
  • Partner with account, creative, production, and fabrication teams to deliver creatively exceptional and strategically effective experiences.
  • Develop environments informed by emerging cultural movements, contemporary design, architecture, and art.
  • Create experiences that reflect a deep understanding of audience behaviors, aspirations, and expectations.
  • Continuously introduce new references, materials, and creative inspiration to elevate the work and expand thinking.
  • Protect the design idea through all stages: concepting, build, installation, and beyond.
  • Partner with designers, producers, and fabrication partners to ensure every detail is intentional and exceptionally executed.
  • Explore new materials, fabrication techniques, and emerging technologies to redefine possibilities in brand experience.
  • Maintain design cohesion by partnering closely with design, production, strategy, and account teams.
  • Maintain creative integrity despite shifting timelines or budget constraints.
  • Foster a culture where ideas flow freely, every voice is heard, and collaboration is energizing and fun.
