About The Position

Lindgren Landscape is seeking a hands-on, full-time Design Build Sales Manager to drive revenue and profitability for their Design/Build division. This leadership role involves managing a team of 5+ landscape designers, developing new business through relationships with builders, realtors, developers, and homeowners, and supporting the sales process from lead qualification to contract closure. The manager will set and oversee sales goals, coach the team on sales techniques and client communication, and maintain pipeline discipline in their CRM system. While technical design oversight is handled by a senior designer, this position focuses on sales performance, business development, team growth, and client relationships. The Design Build Sales Manager is a key member of Lindgren Landscape's leadership team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of sales management experience required, ideally in a service-based, project-based, or high-ticket industry (construction, remodeling, home services, landscape, or similar).
  • 3-5 years of experience directly supervising a sales team.
  • Proven track record of setting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through outside relationships and referral networks (e.g., builders, realtors, developers, trade partners).
  • CRM experience required; experience with Aspire a plus.
  • Strong sales management and team leadership.
  • Sets and meets stretch sales goals.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with referral partners (builders, realtors, developers, architects).
  • Experienced in MS Office and CRM software (Aspire preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to think outside the box.
  • Strategic thinker who can see the big picture and drive work accordingly.
  • Collections and estimating knowledge.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (business, sales, marketing, or related field); equivalent professional sales management experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Landscape design, horticulture, or construction background a plus, not required.
  • Landscape industry, design, or construction experience a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of Lindgren Landscape's leadership team, attending leadership meetings and contributing to company-wide strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Drive new business development by building and maintaining relationships with builders, realtors, developers, architects, and homeowners to generate new project leads, which are routed to the design team through Aspire.
  • Represent Lindgren Landscape at industry events, builder/realtor associations, and networking opportunities to build referral relationships and pipeline.
  • Lead and manage the team of design/build salespeople, ensuring the team meets sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Guide the sales process end-to-end (lead qualification, client meetings, proposal support, negotiation, and closing) by coaching designers, joining client meetings, and helping negotiate and close larger or complex projects.
  • Create and manage sales goals, quotas, and budgets; regularly report on team performance against targets.
  • Serve as the escalation point for sales-related client and vendor concerns.
  • Coach, train, and mentor designers on sales technique, client communication, and CRM (Aspire) discipline.
  • Partner with the senior designer/design lead, who serves as the technical design authority, to ensure design quality aligns with client expectations and sales commitments.
  • Regularly visit job sites and meet with clients to maintain relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, oversee collections, and drive ongoing customer service.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, goal-setting, and performance evaluations for design/sales staff.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and sales data in Aspire (CRM).
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
