About The Position

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a highly motivated Design Build Manager (DBM) to lead industrial construction projects from concept through completion. Similar to a traditional Project Manager, the DBM has broader involvement throughout the design-build lifecycle and is the primary leader responsible for client relationships, coordination of internal design and construction teams, project financial performance, and successful delivery of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, and other light industrial facilities.

This position offers construction professionals with an entrepreneurial mindset significant ownership over project outcomes and the opportunity to grow into larger project and leadership responsibilities. The role is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Grandview Heights, Ohio. The listed annual pay range is $90,000–$120,000, with a competitive 1–5% bonus structure. The posting also notes that mileage to projects is reimbursed when using your own car and that employees participate in an Employee Stock Ownership Program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related construction or engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and construction operations.
• Ability to manage multiple project stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to take ownership and drive results.
• The posting typically targets candidates with 4–8 years of total construction experience, while also considering candidates with 1–2 years of strong industrial construction experience who demonstrate leadership potential.

Nice To Haves

• Civil Engineering degree is preferred.
• Three to six years of experience with a reputable General Contractor is described as ideal.
• Experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Design-Build Project Manager.
• Industrial construction experience, especially with distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or logistics facilities.
• Commercial construction experience with a reputable General Contractor, particularly in healthcare, mission critical/data centers, large commercial projects, or advanced manufacturing.
• Entrepreneurial and business-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage industrial construction projects from initial client engagement through project closeout.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the design-build process.
• Collaborate with in-house architecture, engineering, estimating, and construction teams.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, quality, and risk management.
• Lead subcontractor selection, negotiations, and contract administration.
• Monitor project financials and maintain profitability targets.
• Coordinate design reviews, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
• Facilitate communication among clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships that drive repeat business.
