About The Position

This role involves performing derrick operations, servicing and maintaining rig equipment, and training other crew members. The Derrickhand will also run the rig for the operator as needed, manage crew members during relief operations, and undertake various roustabout projects as assigned by the Rig Supervisor or Foreman. The position requires a strong work ethic, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Basic computer skills and knowledge of downhole production equipment are necessary, along with maintaining good housekeeping and demonstrating integrity, communication skills, and a positive attitude. Attendance at safety meetings and reporting to work fit for duty in all weather conditions are essential.

• Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings
• Report to work on time and fit for duty; able to work in all weather conditions
• Possess organizational and problem-solving skills
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug and background check
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited, state-certified program
• Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation
• Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
• Capable of rigorous outdoor activities with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment

Nice To Haves

• CDL a plus (may be required in some locations)
• Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
• Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform derrick operations (latch & unlatch tubing, operate rod basket equipment)
• Service and maintain all equipment associated with rig
