About The Position

VETERINARY DERMATOLOGIST– Examine animals and diagnose their health problems. Diagnose and treat dermatologic conditions affecting skin, ears, coat, and nails in animals. Perform diagnostic procedures such as cytology, skin scrapings, biopsies, and allergy testing. Develop individualized treatment plans using medications, topical therapies, diets, or immunotherapy. Conduct specialized procedures including intradermal allergy testing, skin biopsies, and ear flushes. Educate pet owners on disease management, treatment expectations, and follow-up care. Communicate with referring veterinarians and provide detailed case summaries and recommendations. Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records for all dermatology cases. Monitor chronic conditions and adjust treatment plans based on response and progression. Collaborate with veterinary specialists to manage cases involving systemic or complex diseases. Participate in continuing education and stay updated on developments in veterinary dermatology.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or foreign equivalent plus 3 years of residency completion in Dermatology.
  • Must be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
  • Must possess Veterinary license in the state of New York.
