Derivative Sales Lead

About The Position

Polymarket is launching perpetual futures and is seeking a driven relationship manager to originate and grow its VIP perpetual client base. This is a zero-to-one role with significant ownership and responsibility for identifying, acquiring, and retaining high-value retail traders. The successful candidate will own the entire sales process, from lead generation to client retention, and will work directly with the Head of Markets, reporting to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a client-facing derivatives role — retail sales, VIP account management, or business development at a crypto exchange, CFD broker, derivatives platform, or similar.
  • Deep familiarity with perpetual futures: how they're structured, how retail traders use them, and what matters to a power user — funding rates, liquidation mechanics, tick size, margin modes.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and close — you've built relationships from cold and converted them into active, revenue-generating clients.
  • Comfortable owning a book independently with no existing infrastructure; you know how to prioritize and create process where none exists.
  • Excellent communicator — clear and direct in writing and in person, able to simplify complex product mechanics for non-technical clients.
  • High ownership mentality — you identify what needs to happen and make it happen without waiting to be told.
  • Comfortable working across product, legal, compliance, and operations to push deals and onboardings across the finish line.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a top-tier crypto derivatives exchange (Binance, Bybit, OKX, dYdX, Hyperliquid, or similar) in a sales or VIP coverage capacity.
  • Existing network of active retail derivatives traders or trading communities.
  • Familiarity with prediction markets or event-driven trading.
  • Track record of building a client vertical or product line from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own a pipeline of VIP retail traders who are active derivatives traders across crypto and traditional markets.
  • Drive the full sales cycle end to end: outreach, qualification, conversion, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how high-value retail traders think about perps (spreads, funding, leverage, margin) and use that to position Polymarket's product effectively.
  • Own onboarding for your book: coordinate across product, legal, and compliance to get clients live quickly and with a great experience.
  • Serve as the voice of VIP retail clients internally — synthesize feedback on product gaps, pricing, and UX and relay it to the perps product team.
  • Build playbooks, outreach templates, and onboarding materials as you learn what works.
  • Track client activity and health across your book; flag churn risk early and identify opportunities to grow wallet share.
  • Represent Polymarket at trading events, crypto conferences, and community spaces where your target clients spend time.
