About The Position

Manage and coordinate the planning and implementation of DER programs in a manner consistent with regulatory requirements and in conformance with budgetary guidelines ensuring effective delivery of programs throughout the Unitil service territories for assigned market sectors: residential and commercial.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing or Engineering
  • Five years related experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate successful professional experience across technical, strategic, and business areas
  • Must have superior oral, written and computer skills.

  • MBA or equivalent advanced education desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provides superior service to electric and gas customers by developing, implementing and managing the Company's DER programs including energy efficiency programs, generator interconnections, and electric vehicle programs. Leads program efforts including program development and management.
  • Prepares and issues RFPs to secure consultants/contractors; evaluates bids and makes recommendations to department management
  • Manages the work activities of all engaged consulting firms/contractors
  • Works closely with and supports the efforts of the gas expansion, economic development and key account teams
  • Develops and maintains systems to store program information that meet Company and regulatory agency requirements. Disseminate information as required.
  • Monitors and reports on program implementation for saturation goals, delivery costs, and Incentive Plans. Prepares impact analysis.
  • Assists in the preparation of technical potential studies, compliance filings, and other filings before state regulatory agencies.
  • Periodically reports results/status of programs and budgets to department management.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with regulators, ESCOs, utility counterparts, and other stakeholders by:
  • Participating in collaborative efforts with regulators, ESCOs, and other stakeholders,
  • Providing expert testimony on behalf of Company before regulatory agencies and securing stakeholder support both publicly and politically for Unitil initiatives by delivering programs that are customer focused and targeted to create and maintain critical customer relationships.

  • Support operations during storm restoration events and other system emergencies including on-call duties to staff local emergency operations centers and other support as requested.
