About The Position

Ameresco, Inc. is seeking a DER Monitoring Platform Technician, an entry-level position responsible for supporting the quoting, onboarding, and first-line technical support for Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) using ASG’s AssetPlanner™ platform. This role involves basic technical troubleshooting, quote development, service request coordination, and hands-on support for hardware and software onboarding activities. The position is based in Waterbury, CT, with occasional travel required. It is ideal for candidates looking to gain experience in renewable energy systems, monitoring hardware, analytics platforms, and customer-facing technical support within a growing clean energy organization.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).

Nice To Haves

Familiar with monitoring hardware, sensors, meters, or data acquisition systems.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, connectivity).
Experience reviewing technical drawings or electrical one-line diagrams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Review design and construction drawings of proposed DER projects to determine monitoring hardware and software requirements.
Create quotes for data acquisition systems (DAS), meters, instrumentation, services and software for new and existing DER projects.
Prepare required documentation for projects including one-line diagrams, shop drawings, and other related documentation as required.
Work with business analysts to ensure that all quotes are submitted and tracked.
Review all inbound service requests in a timely manner.
Perform initial triage and troubleshooting for DAS and software platform.
Route issues to appropriate team members or subject matter experts.
Assist with logistics, configuration, remote commissioning of new monitoring systems, and troubleshooting of existing data acquisition systems.
Other duties as assigned.
