About The Position

Under general supervision, enforces the laws of the State of Oklahoma and answers calls for service. Reports to and handles all calls for service. Writes reports on all criminal cases. Maintains records. Conducts criminal patrol for crime prevention. Transports inmates and public as assigned. Holds major crime scenes for investigation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Skill in basic typing
  • Skill in basic crime investigations
  • Skill in application of principles of supervision
  • Knowledge of 800 radio system/10 Codes
  • Knowledge of Computers
  • Knowledge of Basic crime investigation.
  • Ability to gain respect and cooperation of others
  • Ability to keep alert
  • Ability to understand written instructions
  • Ability to deal tactfully with others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License
  • Basic Peace Officer Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Sixty (60) accredited college hours or qualify for a Veteran or Law Enforcement Education waiver as dictated by current Sheriff’s Office policy.
