About The Position

Goodhue County is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Deputy Surveyor (Licensed or non-licensed). The primary objective of this position is to assist in the supervision of the perpetuation of the Public Land Survey System for the County. This role will involve the supervision, organization, and implementation of the use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for the countywide survey control point network, as well as the collection of PLS corners and vertical and horizontal control for highway projects. In addition to overseeing survey operations, the Deputy County Surveyor will also assume the responsibilities and duties of the County Surveyor when assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in surveying, and experience with GPS technologies.

Requirements

Non-Licensed applicants: Bachelor's degree in land surveying, or related field, and three years of experience in land surveying or related field.
Progressive supervisory experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in working independently as well as leading a survey team and/or technicians.
Licensed applicants: This position requires a Minnesota Licensed Land Surveyor and two years of experience as a Licensed Land Surveyor.
