Requirements

Must be 19 years of age
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Possess a valid driver’s license
Must maintain a North Dakota Peace Officer License or be licensable, or currently enrolled in a Post Board approved academy
Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship
Out-of-State Candidates: Must be a licensed or licensable Peace Officer in their current state OR have graduated from a qualified law enforcement training academy OR be currently enrolled in a POST-approved academy and eligible for ND Peace Officer License
Must comply with the special requirements listed above
