About The Position

This position involves performing a wide range of assigned patrol duties to enforce various laws and ordinances and to protect the public's constitutional rights under county, state, tribal, and federal laws. The role requires working rotating shift patrol assignments, operating a patrol vehicle in a designated county area, and maintaining proper personal conduct to enhance the County's police image. The employee must carry out law enforcement duties while being mindful of citizens' constitutional rights, both on and off duty. All duties are to be performed with minimal supervision. The employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings both locally and out of town, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • COPY OF POLICE CERTIFICATION with original certification date
  • DRIVING RECORD - Dated within the last 30 days
  • Completed and notarized RELEASE OF INFORMATION WAIVER
  • Completed VETERANS' FORM
  • Completed Personal Integrity Questionnaire (PIQ)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of patrol duties, as assigned, to enforce various laws and ordinances, and to protect the general public’s constitutional rights, as provided for under county, state, tribal and federal laws.
  • Work from rotating shift patrol assignments, to operate a patrol vehicle in a designated area of the county, with full responsibility for proper personal conduct and enhancement of the County’s police image, while carrying out the duties of law enforcement being ever mindful of the constitutional rights of the citizenry, both on and off duty.
  • Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
  • Work irregular hours, attend job related meetings both in and out of town, and perform all other duties as assigned.
