The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one (1) regular position in the class of Deputy Public Administrator at the Yolo County Sheriff's Office. The incumbent will be asked to conduct fieldwork as part of their regular duties in homes that may have bad odors, pest infestations, garbage, or other refuse. The ideal candidate will be dependable, honest, and eager to learn. A DPA is a member of a small team, performing investigations and managing a probate caseload. Typing and computer skills, including the ability to perform internet searches using both social media and other databases, are necessary. Note-taking and clearly articulating thoughts are required. Fieldwork will include visiting banking and government offices, as well as searches of residences to retrieve valuables and documents. The conditions of these properties can be unsanitary and contain massive clutter. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable. Under general supervision, to administer the business affairs of decedent's estates in probate; to perform routine administrative and financial tasks involved in the processing of estates; to oversee the investigation and inventory of assets; and to perform other work as required.
