About The Position

The Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking two (2) full-time deputy prosecuting attorneys to join their team. Deputy prosecutors will primarily be responsible for handling a caseload in a criminal court such as a misdemeanor court or a domestic violence court and/or working in a specialty area such as with their Drug Task Force. The office invests in its deputy prosecutors by utilizing IPAC and NDAA training and educational opportunities. To develop trial skills, they partner newer deputy prosecutors with experienced trial attorneys on all of their major cases. Specific prosecutorial assignments remain subject to change, with decisions made based on office needs and giving consideration to the applicant’s experience and qualifications. One position is open immediately, and the second position will begin January 1, 2026.

Requirements

Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
License to practice law in the State of Indiana.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
Proficient computer and typing skills.

Nice To Haves

Prosecutorial experience.
INPCMS experience.

Responsibilities
