About The Position

SAIC is seeking a dynamic and innovative Deputy Program Manager (DPM) with excellent management and people skills. This position requires technical acumen to assist the Program Manager in overseeing a complex, multi-disciplinary program in an innovative, dynamic, and dispersed work environment. The DPM must be able to articulate and communicate across all levels of program personnel up to and including senior sponsor executives. The program involves the Engineering/Design, Integration, and procurement of materials, and transportation associated with the fielding of military vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing planning, coordination, and execution to deliver within budget and schedule. Work will be performed on-site in North Charleston, SC. As Deputy Program Manager for a critical program, the DPM leads and takes ownership of all matters relating to and adherence of all contract requirements, including controlling financial and administrative costs, staffing, tracking and supporting the Program Manager with delivery of technical contract deliverables, subcontracting, quality assurance, and other requirements as levied by the sponsor. The DPM will be responsible for financial oversight, including working with the program's project controller to plan, execute, and track all financial related tasks, and working closely with the contracts, subcontracts, and procurement leads to acquire all program-related material and services. The DPM assists the Program Manager to ensure compliance with quality standards, product delivery, and contract compliance, and notifies SAIC leadership before issues arise. This position offers the opportunity to lead a team in delivering high-quality integrated vehicles and system designs that will be built/integrated in North Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the finances of a complex, technical, systems delivery contract.
  • Directing efforts of complex teams and methods, including SAIC, Sponsor, and subcontracts at multiple on-premises and remote locations.
  • Functioning as the alternate point of contact with Sponsor and representatives on project issues, engaging team resources as appropriate.
  • Driving business and staff development.
  • Routinely briefing leadership on program status, milestones, and progress against plan.
  • Developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the contractual, technical, multi-disciplinary engineering, programming, maintenance, and administrative for all program activities.
  • Manage acquisition and employment of project resources and control financial and administrative aspects of the project.
