About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: DPM serves as the PM in absence of PM and works cooperatively with the PM to apportion the SES III contract workload together in unity of purpose and action. The DPMs emphasis is on directing, structuring, and integrating project management and engineering for day-to-day operations. PRIMARY DUTIES: Implements and manages the Team MVS SES III risk management process and supports the task planning, management, and execution process consistent with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK) and NASA guidelines. Reviews TPs and CTRs for completeness and approves them on behalf of PM. Serves as resource manager for all tasks. Provides oversight and supervision of Group Leads (GLs) including identifying talented individuals to take on GL or TL responsibilities. Works with Code 580 to identify current and future resource requirements. Responsible for human capital management across contract and team. Ensures effective communications among all Group Leads. Responsible for oversight of fill actions, tracking the schedule performance index (SPI) and action tracking. Responsible for the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) Surveillance Point (SP) 10 and 12 including Derived Data (DD) 3. Also responsible for the implementation of the Schedule Contract Deliverables Requirements List (CDRL) 2.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate program management and systems engineering tools, techniques, and best practices across systems at the project level throughout a team of people and subcontractors for space programs.
  • When serving on behalf of PM, must have proven effective and prior program management experience and the ability to operate in unity and autonomously with NASA GSFC and the SES III team.
  • This position requires a single individual to provide a responsive interface between NASA GSFC and Team MVS for all contract levels.
  • This position requires technical competence in space-based services, software development and maintenance (locally and remotely); task planning, execution, and forecasting; NASA financial, property, security, safety management and reporting, services contract management, customer interaction, and corporate interaction; personnel management and team building; leadership; risk management; and decision-making
  • Minimum of 20 years of technical program management experience leading multiple phases of a space project lifecycle, managing programmatic and technical aspects and integration with program management and systems engineering functions for a system or project.
  • B.S. in engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited institution.
