About The Position

Join Collins Aerospace as a Deputy Program Manager supporting the Power & Actuation product portfolio in Rockford, Illinois. In this role, you will partner closely with Program Managers and cross functional teams to help drive program execution, support customer commitments, and contribute to the continued growth of the business. You will play an important role in balancing operational performance, financial objectives, and customer expectations across complex aerospace and defense programs. The Deputy Program Manager will support a wide range of program activities, including profit and loss tracking, risk and opportunity management, contract and proposal support, and development of program reviews for internal leadership and customers. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment with program goals and successful execution throughout the program lifecycle. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives using CORE, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and overall program performance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Experience partnering with cross functional teams across operations, manufacturing, quality, and engineering environments
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives utilizing CORE, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process improvement methodologies
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze, and report program financial performance, including Profit and Loss (P&L) metrics
  • Lead program risk and opportunity management activities, including development and execution of mitigation strategies
  • Support contract negotiations and contractual modifications by coordinating proposals, business plans, statements of work, operational budgets, specifications, and financial requirements to ensure compliance and protect organizational interests
  • Develop, maintain, and present program plans, business updates, and progress reports to executive leadership and customers, including Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, quality, and execution through the application of CORE, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies
  • Identify program challenges, evaluate solutions, and coordinate corrective actions to support successful program execution and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with cross functional teams including engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure alignment with program objectives and deliverables
  • Manage supplier performance and coordination activities, as needed, to support program execution and customer commitments
