About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the logistics and storage functions within the company. The Deputy Manager will ensure efficient operations in receiving, storing, issuing, packaging, preservation, disposal, and dispatch of goods. A key focus will be on promoting a strong safety culture among the team and managing manpower effectively, including unionized, contract, and trainee staff. The position requires proficiency in SAP modules (MM, SD, PP) and expertise in inventory analysis, perpetual inventory, ageing analysis, and capital asset management. The role also involves controlling the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), managing dispatch planning, coordinating with customer plants and manufacturing for seamless operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with green and returnable packaging, as well as exposure to ISO, TS, TPM, OHSAS, SHE, and ISO45001 standards, is essential. Revenue and spend management, including cost control measures, are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Well conversant with Storage function (Receiving, Storing, Issue, Packaging, Preservation, Disposal, Dispatch, vendor-aid transaction, supplier rejection).
  • Proficiency in SAP (MM, SD, PP).
  • Experience in Inventory analysis, Perpetual Inventory, Ageing analysis, capital assets management.
  • Experience in controlling Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) - scrap, detention, premium freight, underload, 57f4 expiry etc.
  • Experience in IUTN vehicle and Dispatch Planning.
  • Experience in coordinating with customer plants to meeting their requirements.
  • Experience in effective Manpower Handling (Unionized, contract, trainees).
  • Exposure to ISO, TS, TPM, OHSAS, SHE, ISO45001 is must.
  • Experienced in Green Packaging, returnable packaging.
  • Experience in coordinating with mfg and all supporting functions to carry out processes without interruptions to meet customer demands.
  • Experience in driving Continuous improvement amongst team.
  • Experience in Revenue spend management and take measure for control.
