We are looking for a Deputy Head of Flight Training to come onboard in our Flight Training Directorate in Herve’s team : a team of 22 collaborators! Your Mission Within ATR Americas, the Deputy Head of Training, is responsible for all ATR ground and simulator training and checking performed in the training center. He/she specifically ensures that applied standards and training performed comply with ATR standards & training requirements and that the training fulfilment is satisfactory at all levels (theoretical courses, training on simulators and/or ground training). He/she continuously evaluates and proposes new initiatives to ensure that the training center delivers high-standard training to ATR Americas customers/operators in a safe and cost-efficient way. He/she hierarchically reports to ATR Americas VP Support and Services, he/she functionally reports to ATR Head of Flight Training (concerning pedagogical aspects, training, training tools, regulatory changes, etc...)

Requirements

  • Right to live and work in the US and no restriction to working or travelling inside the United States or other parts of the Americas.
  • Local Contract
  • FAA and EASA license holder (FAA ATR and EASA ATPL), qualified on the ATR (this needs to appear on both licenses)
  • Captain on the aircraft
  • Significant flight experience as commercial pilot, including ATR experience
  • Instructor/examiner rated
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of aeronautical training activities, FSTD teaching tools and Authorities expectations (EASA, FAA, …)
  • Understands the functioning of an aeronautical training center and the requirements applicable to this activity
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent changes in Training regulation through regulatory monitoring (EASA & FAA)
  • Extended experience in developing training program, ideally previous experience as Chief/Deputy training Captain or TRI/TRE
  • Good knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Appropriate level of experience in auditing/evaluating various records and systems
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to customers/authorities
  • Customer-oriented
  • Ability to build and manage strong relationships with Customers, authorities and co-workers
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours when required
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines
  • Must be detail oriented, a problem solving and a team player
  • Strong ability to manage own time through effective prioritization and management of workload
  • Fluent in English (including ability to write reports and other business correspondence in English and to make presentations in front of customers and authorities)
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point - able to create metrics, track and monitor data

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Flight Training standards / delivery in accordance with FAA/EASA requirements
  • Monitor training standards’ minimum requirements
  • Ensure standardization and skills management of the instructors
  • Ensure that the programs being managed are delivered in compliance with all appropriate references from ATR, local regulatory agencies and mandate directives
  • Interface with authorities for certification/approval of satellite facilities and simulator(s)
  • Manage and supervise instructors acting in the training center (updated knowledge, standardization level and compliance with ATR Training procedures/principles – instructor folders archived locally)
  • Liaise with ATR Training Center (Toulouse) Head of Training to regularly keep up to date on satellite status and adjust training standards when appropriate
  • Interface with administrative, logistic and technical staff from local service providers
  • Monitor working level of training tools in the Training Center
  • Monitor general fine-looking facilities
  • Interface with customers/operators of the training center
