About The Position

This position involves data entry on the State Disbursement Unit (TXCSES Web), assisting pro se family law litigants with final orders, performing data entry for tax cases including citations and judgments, handling mail runs, processing jury mail, managing passport intake for the passport agency, and performing overflow duties as assigned by the Department Director or Supervisors. Essential duties include processing all e-filings for tax cases, submitting and correcting data on the SDU portal for child support cases, issuing wage assignments, mailing correspondence, acting as a backup receptionist, assisting pro se filers with final orders, maintaining knowledge of the Texas Family Code, interacting with the Attorney General's Office, and processing jury mail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer data entry experience required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to type or keyboard data entry at a rate of 45 net words per minute.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform basic math principles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to be performed.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to requests and inquiries from the general public and courthouse personnel.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and procedures applicable to job duties assigned.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals, instructions and documents.
  • Ability to analyze various situations and determine best solution within authority delegated.

Responsibilities

  • Process all e-filings for tax cases.
  • Process passports to be sent to the passport agency.
  • Submit/correct data on the SDU portal on child support cases.
  • Issue wage assignments and enter on computer.
  • Mail correspondence to custodial parents, non-custodial parents, and employers.
  • Act as backup receptionist for the office, forwarding calls to the appropriate clerk or supervisor, and answering questions for callers within the scope of your training.
  • Pull files and handle walk-throughs of final orders for pro se filers.
  • Maintain knowledge of Texas Family Code.
  • Interact with representatives of the Attorney General’s Office.
  • Pickup and deliver mail to the mailroom 3 or more times daily.
  • Process jury mail by coding the correct information into the jury program.
  • Answer jury calls and return voicemails.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
