About The Position

The County of Yolo District Attorney's Office is recruiting to fill one (1) regular or limited-term full-time position in the Deputy District Attorney class series. The positions will be assigned to the Criminal Unit as a Deputy District Attorney I/II/III/IV, depending on the selected candidate's experience. The starting step is determined at the hiring authority's discretion. This posting is for the Deputy District Attorney III-IV classification levels. The District Attorney's Office participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is open until filled and submitted applications will be reviewed on a regular basis. The applications of qualified individuals will be forwarded to the District Attorney's Office for additional consideration. In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that may be utilized to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Requirements

Active membership in the State Bar of California.
Deputy District Attorney III: Three (3) years of experience in the practice of law; One (1) year of experience as journey-level attorney in any county in the State of California or at least one (1) year of experience at a prosecutor's office in the United States.
Deputy District Attorney IV: Four (4) years experience in the practice of law or three (3) years experience as an attorney with the County of Yolo.
Some positions may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher.
Verification of CA State Bar licensure.

Nice To Haves

Experience in general civil law or in the civil and criminal prosecution of consumer or environmental law (for "special services" legal work).
