About The Position

The Office of the District Attorney is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy District Attorney II - Consumer Protection Unit. This recruitment will be used to focus on filling upcoming positions within the Consumer Protection Unit of the District Attorney’s Office. The eligibility list from this recruitment may also be used to fill future positions in other units so long as the eligibility list remains valid. This is a series recruitment that will be suspended on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Deputy District Attorney II is the second entry level class of the series. Under general supervision, incumbents prepare and try criminal or civil cases in the Superior Court; interview complainants and witnesses with regard to prospective criminal or civil prosecutions and prepare pleadings and other papers in connection with suits, trials, hearings, and other legal procedures.

Requirements

Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
One (1) year of experience as a Deputy District Attorney I in the County of San Diego, or at an equivalent level with another California county or California city prosecutorial agency; OR, Two (2) years of experience as an attorney in the practice of criminal and/or civil law.
