About The Position

The Deputy Director will be responsible for managing operational activities and regulatory compliance of the Water and Wastewater Division including a staff of 25. The Deputy Director will also have oversight of additional divisions of the department to be determined in the selection process based on the applicant pool.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government.
• Two (2) years of supervisory responsibility.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver License with a good driving record that is maintained continuously while employed.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree preferred.
• Preference given to public works experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage aspects of the assigned operational divisions and functional areas within the department.
• Budgeting, short and long-range planning.
• Directing staff, operations, programs, and activities that align with city and department goals and objectives.
• Provides technical and professional assistance to internal and external parties.
