Under general direction, the incumbent is responsible to coordinate and direct the work in the department’s Land Development Division and provide overall direction, coordination, supervision and evaluation of divisional units including floodplain management, land development, surveying, special districts, county service areas, storm water plan development, the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program, related grant program activities, and coordination with local agencies and commissions. Serves as the County’s Floodplain Administrator. This is a single incumbent, managerial level position assigned to the Land Development Division of the Public Works Department. The Deputy Director, Land Development Division plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the work of a division within the department. Incumbent operates with considerable autonomy and independent judgment and is responsible for the division’s fiscal management, policy direction and establishing division performance goals and objectives.
