About The Position

The Deputy Director of Flight Operations, Long Endurance UAS, is an experienced leader within the aerospace industry and has the responsibility, accountability and authority (RAA) to assist the Director with overall flight and field operations (i.e. Training and Operations) for the DZYNE Long Endurance UAS business unit. The Deputy Director of Flight Operations, Long Endurance UAS reports to the Director of Flight Operations and will act as an extension to build a diverse and engaged team (i.e. people management and career growth) for execution of strategic and tactical capabilities for flight operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in Operations, Support, and Sustainment of fielded systems as a DoD contractor
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing a growing team
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration (BBA/MBA), Management, Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, Aviation Science, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or UAS Operations, Aerospace Operations, Aviation Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with an aviation or operations focus.
  • DoD Secret Clearance Required, Top Secret Clearance Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Structure flight and field operations organizations to support missions requiring long-endurance UAS capabilities
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish and scale new operational sites
  • Oversee the continued operations, performance, and readiness of all field sites
  • Lead the development, release, and maintenance of flight and ground operations manuals
  • Direct the creation of training curricula and manuals designed for DoD approval
  • Ensure best‑in‑class operational processes, skills management, and training programs for pilots, GCS operators, and ground crews across military and commercial initiatives
  • Maintain Flight and Ground Operating Procedures that meet customer, regulatory, and program requirements
  • Manage deployment logistics, site activation activities, and operational support planning
  • Recruit and develop field operations personnel to meet program and budget objectives
  • Produce bases of estimate, schedules, staffing plans, and other operational inputs that support program execution and capture efforts
