About The Position

The JB for Governor Campaign is seeking a Deputy Director of Content for the 2026 election cycle to lead the campaign’s digital content operation. This role manages the team responsible for planning, producing, and publishing content across the campaign’s digital platforms, ensuring every piece of content supports the campaign’s messaging, priorities, and audience engagement goals. The Deputy Director of Content serves as the operational lead for the campaign’s content program, building systems that keep content moving from idea to publication. This role manages content planning, team workflows, cross-departmental coordination, and publishing priorities while mentoring staff and maintaining a high bar for quality, consistency, and execution. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, and content strategist with strong leadership skills, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced political campaign.

  • 5+ years of experience in digital content strategy, editorial management, or political communications.
  • Experience managing or supervising content teams, including setting priorities, providing feedback, and developing staff.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio demonstrating range across platforms and formats.
  • Experience developing and managing editorial calendars and content workflows at scale.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, content trends, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience in political campaigns, advocacy organizations, or fast-paced communications environments.
  • Familiarity with content analytics and performance tracking tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily execution of the campaign's content strategy.
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendars across all digital channels.
  • Coordinate content requests from campaign leadership and department heads.
