The Deputy Coroner will conduct investigations of all deaths and related procedures that fall under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Coroner. To be in charge when assigned by the Coroner. To conduct a Medicolegal Death Investigation, positively identify the deceased, and notify the next of kin. To observe and or assist forensic pathologists with autopsies if asked to do so and to maintain a proper chain of custody with all evidence, including scene and autopsy photographs. This is a full-time position that will take calls 8-10 times per month and will fill the rest of the 40-hour workweek with administrative duties. Candidate must live in Eagle County, CO, due to on-call and quick response time.
