About The Position

The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) leverages technology to drive opportunity, improve public safety, and help government run better across New York City. From delivering affordable broadband to protecting against cybersecurity threats and building digital government services, OTI is at the forefront of how the City delivers for New Yorkers in the 21st century. This position will combine significant policy input and program impact at an agency-wide level with direct control over all the resources necessary to operate an IT program using information technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, planning of data/information processing, user services, or area networks, the development of complex computer systems, including staff, budgeting, and procurement.

• Planning, organizing and controlling major IT facilities and activities;
• Managing the day-to-day activities of a large IT operation, serving as head of technology and/or as head of a unit responsible for one or more major operating functions;
• Heading the operation of a very large IT program overseeing all components of the program
• Overseeing special projects and initiatives.
