About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Deputy Chief Pilot - Flight Technical and Safety (FT&S) located in Seattle, WA. This role provides and manages FT&S 737, 757/767, Flight Crew Training Manual and Safety Pilot employees, offering technical consultation, aircrew instruction, technical documentation, and support related to flight operations, flight safety, and accident investigations. This position interfaces with government/industry agencies worldwide and with airlines operating all models of Boeing commercial aircraft. Flight Technical and Safety works closely with various departments within The Boeing Company to ensure aircraft are operated safely and efficiently in diverse operating environments. FT&S serves as the customer interface for flight operations and includes representation on various industry committees. The group comprises numerous former airline pilots with extensive operational experience with U.S. and international airlines, providing a broad-based, global perspective of airline operations. Our safety pilots are uniquely trained to lead the Flight Operations Support Program and represent Boeing during incident and accident investigations. Many non-pilot team members possess extensive military aircrew or general aviation experience. This position is primarily non-flying but requires maintaining pilot qualification on at least one Boeing aircraft model and holding a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating or equivalent.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • 737 Type Rating
  • 5+ years of experience in airplane accident investigation and/or training
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating or equivalent
