About The Position

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) is a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO and partnering with the CFO, CEO and other executives to drive financial strategy, capital allocation, and shareholder value. The DCFO is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day financial management — including corporate finance, capital markets, accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A, and risk management — to support the company’s growth as a $1B retail colocation provider in North America. The DCFO plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the business, optimizing return on invested capital, and providing strategic insight into market expansion, M&A opportunities, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics required; CPA, or CFA strongly
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant tenure as a CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, or Corporate Controller in a high-growth, capital-intensive business (data center, telecom, or infrastructure preferred).
  • Proven experience managing complex capital structures, debt financing, and investor relations.
  • Track record of driving EBITDA growth, capital efficiency, and strong cash flow generation.
  • Deep understanding of colocation/data center economics, capital markets, and key financial drivers.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and M&A expertise.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence executive teams, boards, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement systems and processes that scale with organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support revenue growth, margin expansion, and shareholder value creation.
  • Partner with the CFO, CEO and other financial senior management to evaluate and prioritize capital investments, M&A opportunities, and expansion projects.
  • In conjunction with CFO leadership, ensure optimal capital structure and cost of capital to support growth initiatives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and forecasting to guide business decisions.
  • Deliver timely and insightful financial analysis to the executive team and assist CFO with board presentations.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and proactively recommend course corrections.
  • Directly supervise the CAO and oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP/public reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization.
  • Lead tax planning and compliance to minimize liabilities while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as the secondary contact for investors, analysts, and lenders, clearly articulating the company’s financial performance.
  • Assist with the preparation of board materials, investor presentations, and quarterly financial reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with capital providers, including banks, private equity, and debt investors.
  • Establish robust internal controls, compliance frameworks, and enterprise risk management practices.
  • Oversee financial audits and maintain a strong relationship with external auditors.
  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity and data protection standards for financial systems.
  • Collaborate with COO, Chief Data Center Operations Officer, and SVP of Construction to manage project cost controls and ensure on-time, on-budget execution of capital projects.
  • Partner with Chief Product & Information Officer on pricing strategy, product profitability, and technology investments.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop succession plans for key finance leadership roles.
