The Defense Sector at Leidos is seeking a Business Development/ Armament Retooling & Manufacturing Support (BD/ARMS) Deputy who will encourage and execute commercial use of the Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field with 6 or more years of directly related experience in business development and marketing. Additional directly related experience can offset the degree requirements.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance prior to employment.
  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office3.
  • Understanding of market positioning, financial metrics, and industry dynamics.
  • Proven track record in sales, marketing, or business development roles.
  • Strong verbal and written skills for high-level meetings and deal-closing.
  • Ability to analyze market data and competitor research to drive strategy.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with potential partners.
  • Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English Language.

Responsibilities

  • Actively market the capabilities and equipment at HWAD.
  • Increase the opportunities for small businesses (including socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses and new small businesses) to use eligible facilities.
  • Encourage, promote, and execute the creation of commercial jobs to retain critical skills needed for the mission of HWAD.
  • Track, maintain, and report, as required, the Facility Contractor Account (FCA) and records of costs, revenues (to include product cost reductions, cost offsets and overhead reductions), critical skills, jobs created, and benefits to the Army resulting from tenant use and third-party commercial use efforts at HWAD.
  • Encourage the private sector to leverage available federal, state, and local government resources to achieve the goals and objectives of the ARMS Initiative.
  • Support, encourage, and execute the generation of new sustainable startup businesses and jobs.
  • Develop and execute land and property uses supporting the purposes of the ARMS Initiative and surrounding communities.
  • Developing growth strategies, analyzing, and expanding into new markets.
  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Researching and identifying potential clients, partners, or new lines of business.
  • Relationship Management: Building, maintaining, and fostering long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Sales Collaboration: Working with sales/marketing teams to develop proposals, presentations, and negotiate contracts.
  • Market Analysis: Monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and internal product performance to identify opportunities.
