The Mayor's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the New York City government's chief financial agency, responsible for assembling and overseeing the Mayor's expense and capital budgets. The FEMA Disaster Recovery Task Force, within the OMB-Managed Grants subdivision, works with City, State, and Federal agencies to aid New York City's recovery from major disaster events like Hurricane Sandy, COVID-19, Tropical Storm Isaias, Tropical Storm Ida, and Tropical Storm Ophelia. This team coordinates policy, monitors budgets, and ensures compliance for FEMA Public Assistance program-funded projects, while also building the City's capacity for future disaster preparedness and response. This new position will provide day-to-day programmatic oversight for FEMA recovery grants related to Storms Ophelia and Ida, including project management, reimbursement claiming, compliance, and grant closeout. The role will also support the Sandy team by sharing expertise and owning specific processes. This is a grant-funded position with an expected term of at least three years, dependent on grant funding availability.
