About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a data-driven, dynamic, forward-thinking operations leader to join our team as Deputy Assistant Director of Operations for the Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH). This role provides high-level oversight across division operations, ensuring efficiency, responsibility, and alignment with the mission to serve Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities statewide. The position directly oversees key operational areas including budgeting, human resources, IT, event coordination, staff development, and emergency preparedness for both headquarters and regional offices. The leader will shape the overall effectiveness of the division by monitoring and improving the quality and impact of planning, events, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and data collection. Performance metrics and key indicators will be established to align operations with organizational goals. The role also involves managing the division’s budget with integrity, upholding organizational standards, ensuring safe and productive work environments, and developing, evaluating, and refining policies and procedures through internal reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of experience in the program area of assignment, including two years of supervisory program experience OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
