Part-Time Depot Attendant

About The Position

The Depot Attendant assists with and oversees use of the Recycling/Transfer station facility and performs general labor duties. Work includes yard cleanup, fueling vehicles and equipment, operating vehicles, general office maintenance, and related duties. This is a part-time, Saturdays-only position, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The starting hourly pay range is $18–$21. The position is non-benefitted, although the posting separately lists company benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

One year of heavy equipment operation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain solid waste station machinery, such as compactors.
Maintain the facility by sweeping floors; cleaning and picking up around stations and facilities; mowing grass; moving snow; and scraping ice.
Maintain simple records of station facility usage, containers loaded each day, and station equipment use and performance.
Maintain a safe working environment for employees and customers.
Assist customers with unloading trash.
Inspect loads for unacceptable materials to protect customers and employees.
Pull recyclable material for delivery to the MRF and ensure it is properly handled.
Load trash into semi-trailers using heavy equipment.
Participate in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services.
Perform other duties that support the company’s vision, mission, and core values.
