About The Position

Under general supervision of AVP, Deposit Operations, the Deposit Operations Servicing Specialist performs tasks related to back-office deposit processing. Provides branch support and handles member calls related to department tasks. Provides exceptional member service to both internal team members and Credit Union members. Adheres to regulatory rules and CCU policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication, analysis, problem-solving, teamwork, initiative, flexibility, time management.
  • Provide excellent member service.
  • Must be able to use PC programs and applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent.
  • Able to use member transactional and related system, such as DNA or equivalent.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of specialized certifications or licensing, or job specific skills equivalent to two-year college degree.
  • Strong knowledge of member consumer deposit accounts, to include opening IRA and Fiduciary Accounts.
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications and systems.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience handling all aspects of consumer deposit accounts, including fiduciary accounts (trusts, court ordered accounts, etc.), IRAs in a financial institution.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support and guidance to branch staff for IRAs, HSAs, Fiduciary accounts and other department functions.
  • Assists members by phone and mail for fiduciary accounts, IRAs, HSAs and department functions
  • Research and resolve member problems relating to department functions.
  • Monitors reports, correcting problems and reporting patterns to management
  • Research and resolve consumer account problems including correspondence
  • Processes and responds to member mail and telephone requests
  • Oversees Notice of Death process for deposit accounts, restricts access as appropriate to protect decedent assets. May determine beneficiary/estate settlement requirements.
  • Processes IRA/HSA transactions and incoming/outgoing mailed IRA/HSA transfer requests. May perform required minimum distribution setup and assist with tax reporting and corrections.
  • Processes levies & garnishments to accounts
  • Processes daily mail received into the department
  • Processes member responses to Unclaimed Property notices and assists branches with walk-in claims
  • Calculates and posts dividend adjustments to correct errors
  • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position
  • Participates in all assigned staff development programs in support of the Credit Union's commitment to continuous improvement in sales and service, quality, and teamwork.
  • Complete all BAI and required courses for the position
  • Performs other duties as assigned
