About The Position

We're building Percy, an AI agent designed to automate and enhance financial crime investigations for banks and fintech companies. Percy addresses the challenges of surging transaction volumes, increasing regulatory demands, and reliance on manual review processes. By learning team procedures, Percy can make decisions like clearing false positives, escalating real risks, and generating case narratives, significantly reducing review workloads and improving fraud detection. This is made possible by an underlying identity platform that resolves ambiguity at the source. The company is well-backed, experiencing rapid revenue growth, and comprises a small, senior, and fast-shipping team.

Requirements

  • Owned a financial crime compliance program (AML, BSA, EDD, or sanctions) at a bank, fintech, or crypto platform, with personal accountability for outcomes, ideally through a regulatory exam.
  • Ability to think in systems and translate high-level concepts like 'we're conservative on crypto MSBs' into concrete logic, thresholds, and decision rules.
  • Experience configuring transaction monitoring systems, tuning detection logic, or building tools that automated compliance decisions.
  • Proven ability to quickly understand how a customer's compliance team actually operates and lay out a credible path to improvement.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to ask sharp questions.
  • A desire to build and improve compliance programs, driven by the frustration of programs that spend more time defending themselves than fighting crime.
  • Genuine hunger to be hands-on at an early-stage company.
  • Forward-deployed temperament: owning customer outcomes, comfort with ambiguity, and a proactive approach to building playbooks.

Nice To Haves

  • Time embedded on the vendor side (regtech, compliance platform), ideally owning deployments into regulated institutions.
  • Hands-on familiarity with alert-generating platforms (NICE Actimize, Verafin, ComplyAdvantage, or similar).
  • Experience as a BSA officer, interim or permanent.
  • Background with community banks, regional banks, or mid-market fintechs.
  • Crypto / VASP compliance depth.
  • Comfort navigating light technical coordination with customer IT, database connections, data integrations, and environment setup.

Responsibilities

  • Configure risk and compliance policy into the system, guiding customers through setting up and iterating Percy's agent harness, translating their regulatory obligations and operational preferences into a finely tuned configuration.
  • Architect the compliance program around Percy by mapping existing investigation workflows, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and designing how Percy improves the broader program, RFI-vs-offboard logic, alert triage, and new SOPs.
  • Partner with sales pre-sale to provide compliance and technical credibility, scope deployments, and help prospects understand Percy's capabilities.
  • Act as a trusted peer to BSA officers, earning their confidence through shared experience and credible advice on how comparable institutions solve similar problems, focusing on defensibility, auditability, and governance.
  • Serve as the voice of the field within the company, collaborating with product and engineering to shape the product roadmap based on deployment patterns.
  • Build the engine for deployments by codifying calibration templates, playbooks, and systems to create a repeatable process, and grow the function and team as the company scales.

Benefits

  • Generous compensation and equity packages
  • Free lunch and dinner (after 7pm)
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Fully covered health, dental, and vision insurance
  • The chance to help shape the future of internet identity and financial crime prevention
