About The Position

M9 Solutions is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Springfield, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required. Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a related discipline and 7+ years of progressive experience.
  • Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
  • DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441.
  • Ability to identify cable colors, markings, or labels.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), can communicate with all levels of the organization, and present complex and technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • An ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • An ability to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Deployment of network equipment and technology, with working knowledge of network devices and configuration.
  • Able to use device command line interfaces (CLI) and make configuration changes as needed.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS and Azure, with IL-2 or higher experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment, and troubleshooting different communication circuit types.
  • Understanding of layer 1 technologies and their capabilities and limitations, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits to include CPE, Telco & Demark, etc.
  • Experience in creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
  • Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and Security and Encryption appliances.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS).

Nice To Haves

  • Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the O&M Network Engineer in Pre-Installation, on-site deployment, and go-live testing.
  • Prepare and perform on-site network surveys at client sites.
  • Participate in infrastructure configuration and testing activities prior to deployment.
  • Be directly involved in the hands-on implementation at client sites.
  • Responsible for all the documentation and revisions of each deployment and provide feedback to the O&M Network Engineer for future deployment improvements.
  • Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot & identify issues at all layers of the network.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and manage network security across a multi-enclave environment.
  • System configuration based on security policy and guidelines.
  • Domestic and international travel is expected.
