Deployment Engineer - Intern (NYC)

ScorePlay•New York City, NY
•Onsite

About The Position

ScorePlay is hiring a Deployment Engineer intern in New York to support the Deployment team as the company moves toward more structured rollouts for large sports and broadcast organizations. The role sits between product and clients and involves working in real client environments from the first week, alongside engineers leading major North American deployments. It is intended for someone who can understand APIs, read code, and debug workflows, and who also enjoys working directly with clients. ScorePlay intends to convert the right intern into a full-time Deployment Engineer in New York. The intern will investigate and resolve client technical issues during and after onboarding, such as failed imports, metadata mismatches, integration errors, and permissions problems. They will analyze logs, API responses, and scripts to identify root causes, communicate with client technical teams, and escalate product issues to Engineering with a clear diagnosis. The intern will also participate in complex deployments, including archive migrations, platform setups, bulk operations, and backfills. They will own repeatable rollout tasks such as environment preparation, configuration, data checks, and pre-launch validation, follow the deployment playbook, and help improve it based on field experience. As familiarity with deployments grows, the role may include building scripts, internal tools, or AI agents to prevent recurring issues, automate manual delivery work, and create reusable solutions for the team. The intern will also help the Deployment team improve its day-to-day use of AI tools.
