About The Position

Moder is building its first cohort of Forward Deployment Engineers (FDEs) through the intentional and carefully designed Fast Forward Program. This full-time, structured launchpad is for recent graduates who want to build a career in AI deployment within financial services. Associates will be the first to go through Foundry Academy, deploy on live client engagements, and provide feedback to shape the FDE program. The role is for technically sharp individuals curious about real-world AI deployment in financial institutions with complex data and systems. Associates are expected to be contributors from week one, working on real problems alongside experienced engineers.

Requirements

Recent graduate (undergraduate or graduate) with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Programming ability in Python (independent writing, not just reading).
Experience with data manipulation, API calls, scripting, and understanding data movement between systems.
Working SQL proficiency for querying and exploring datasets; comfort working with structured data at scale.
Highly analytical mindset: ability to break down problems, find relevant data, and build a structured case for action.
High degree of intellectual curiosity and inquisitiveness.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfort with ambiguity and open-ended environments where tasks are discovered through engagement.
Ability to commute to and work from Philadelphia at least three days per week.

Nice To Haves

Coursework, projects, or research involving data engineering, machine learning, enterprise data platforms, or applied AI.
Any exposure to AI/ML concepts including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic systems.
Prior experience in a client-facing, consulting, or applied research capacity.
Background or coursework in financial services, mortgage, insurance, or a regulated industry.
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) at any level.

Responsibilities

Work on active Palantir Foundry deployments alongside senior FDEs, owning defined scopes within real client engagements.
Build data pipelines, ontology structures, and workflow automations in Foundry's Pipeline Builder and Workshop.
Clean, transform, and integrate complex financial services datasets within Palantir's ontology layer.
Develop proficiency in Foundry's core tools: Pipeline Builder, Workshop, Ontology Manager, Code Repositories, and AIP.
Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions.
Build working familiarity with AI and LLM-driven workflows through Palantir AIP.
Participate in client-facing sessions, including discovery meetings, technical reviews, and status updates.
Support training and handoff sessions for client teams.
Translate technical realities into business language for various audiences.
Represent Moder in-person at client locations when travel is required.
Participate actively in Moder Academy, providing feedback for improvement.
Maintain a structured learning log capturing client patterns, platform observations, and deployment insights.
Complete a capstone project and present it to Moder leadership.
Provide formal feedback at structured checkpoints to improve the program for future cohorts.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
