About The Position

Champ AI is building a multimodal work-agent orchestration platform that helps operations teams automate end-to-end workflows. The company is developing agentic systems capable of performing actions across various tools, handling real-world edge cases, and improving through feedback loops. This role is crucial for managing the entire customer engagement process, from initial contact to successful production deployment. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and sales acumen to guide prospects through Proof of Concept (POC) stages and convert them into paying customers. The individual will configure agents, manage customer data, and handle pricing discussions, directly influencing product development through customer feedback and deal outcomes. This role offers direct exposure to enterprise customers, their challenges, and their buying processes, providing valuable experience for future entrepreneurial endeavors.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar customer-facing, deal-carrying technical role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, Deployment Strategist, Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer, Applied AI).
  • Experience carrying pilots or deals from first call to production at a technical startup, or owning solution engineering through scoping, setup, debugging, and production delivery.
  • Technical range: ability to read code, write Python scripts, debug LLM prompts, sketch integrations, and engage with skeptical engineers.
  • Deal instinct: ability to manage deal pipelines, identify next steps, risks, and timelines, and proactively drive deals forward.
  • Client dynamics fluency: ability to understand decision-making processes, stakeholder motivations, and potential project blockers.
  • Urgency as a default: prompt responses, same-day follow-ups, and a compressed cycle approach.
  • Systems thinking under ambiguity: ability to scope complex workflows into manageable pilots and differentiate between demo and product bugs.
  • Clear writing skills for follow-ups, action plans, reports, and internal debriefs.

Nice To Haves

  • Ex-founders with experience building and selling products.
  • Alumni of AI-native companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Scale, Glean, Harvey, Sierra, Decagon, Hebbia, Cresta, Writer, Cognition, or similar.
  • Experience in configuring prompts, tools, evals, and guardrails for customer-specific needs.
  • Experience in pricing conversations, security reviews, procurement, and contract redlines.

Responsibilities

  • Customer discovery and solutioning: Conduct initial calls with operations leaders, translate customer pain points into automatable workflows, shadow operators to understand real-world tasks, and create working demos, POCs, and pilot plans.
  • Pilot delivery and deployment: Set up agents with live customer data and tools within the first week of a pilot, configure prompts, tools, evaluations, and guardrails, and manage the pilot success plan, including metrics, sign-offs, and timelines.
  • Deal execution: Drive deals forward with a sense of urgency, identify key stakeholders (champion, economic buyer, blocker), manage pricing conversations, security reviews, procurement, and contract redlines, and write effective follow-up communications.
  • Product feedback loop: Provide high-signal, structured feedback to the company based on customer interactions, partner with engineering to identify and prioritize product hardening needs, and build reusable assets like demo environments and pilot templates.
  • Trust and expansion: Act as the primary point of contact for customer evaluators, demonstrating technical credibility and honesty, and drive expansion of pilots to multiple teams and workflows within accounts.
