Purpose of Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Departmental Assistant (part-time) to support daily administrative tasks and help maintain an efficient office environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to handle a variety of office duties with professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
  • Previous administrative or clerical experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Google Suite including Google Calendar) and Zoom
  • Ability to create highly professionally formatted documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision, and able to work closely with faculty
  • Adaptable, accurate, problem-solving capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Alfiero School of Business Department Chair
  • Assist Alfiero School of Business Department Chair and faculty with professional and accurate document creation in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Canva, (reports, presentations, posters, certificates)
  • Google Calendar meeting and appointment scheduling
  • Ongoing and timely digital (Google Drive) and physical file maintenance
  • Bulletin board maintenance
  • Take meeting minutes
  • Ensure office supplies are adequate and well-organized
  • Facilitate purchase requisitions
  • Answer phones and greet visitors
  • Photocopying and shredding
  • Run errands across campus
  • Mid-August through May: 16 hours per week, in office, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Mon, Tues, Wed, & Thurs
