About The Position

The Departmental Technology Supervisor serves as the primary technology liaison and business systems leader for the department. This position is responsible for supervising a small team of technology professionals while providing strategic and operational support for business applications, system implementations, process improvements, reporting, and customer support. The position combines technical expertise, project management, business analysis, and leadership responsibilities to ensure technology solutions effectively support departmental operations. The incumbent works closely with business stakeholders, Information Technology staff, software vendors, and consultants to maintain existing systems, implement new technologies, improve business processes, and provide exceptional support to internal customers. This role is highly collaborative and requires the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, manage competing priorities, analyze complex operational challenges, and lead staff through organizational and technological change. The Departmental Technology Supervisor is expected to develop strong partnerships across multiple business areas and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Five years of experience directly working on computer-based information systems' software, with a focus on system administration and management including programming/scripting languages in support of medium to large enterprise applications.
  • One year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date (depending on department assignment).
  • Obtain and maintain a Level D – Technical Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Network Terminal Operator certification (depending on department assignment).
  • Reside in the State of Arizona during active employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Training is provided on duty and testing is completed within first six months of hire for ACJIS certification.
