About The Position

The ECC Department Support Coordinator (Charges) is responsible for reviewing and validating Emergency Care Center (ECC) facility charges to ensure accurate, compliant, and complete charge capture across the health system. Requirements

  • Review and validation of Emergency Care Center (ECC) facility charges.
  • Accurate, compliant, and complete charge capture.
  • Validation and entry of injection, hydration, infusion, and medication administration charges.
  • Identification and resolution of missed, duplicate, or unsupported charges.
  • Monitoring compliance with CMS, payer, and organizational charging guidelines.
  • Collaboration with ECC leadership, Revenue Integrity, Coding, HIM, and Patient Financial Services.
  • Charge reconciliation and revenue recovery reviews.
  • Charge master maintenance and charging workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Development and maintenance of reports on charge capture trends, audit findings, and revenue opportunities.
  • Assistance with appropriate use of infusion-related modifiers and units of service.

Responsibilities

  • Audit Emergency Care Center encounters for accurate facility level assignment and charge capture.
  • Validate and enter injection, hydration, infusion, and medication administration charges based on clinical documentation.
  • Identify and resolve missed, duplicate, or unsupported charges.
  • Monitor compliance with CMS, payer, and organizational charging guidelines.
  • Collaborate with ECC leadership, Revenue Integrity, Coding, HIM, and Patient Financial Services to resolve charging discrepancies.
  • Conduct routine charge reconciliation and revenue recovery reviews.
  • Assist with charge master maintenance and charging workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain reports identifying charge capture trends, audit findings, and revenue opportunities.
  • Assist with appropriate use of infusion-related modifiers and units of service.
