About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a motivated individual to join their growing distribution center team as an Area Supervisor. This role is crucial for supporting the activities of an assigned area within a high-volume, multi-shift automated retail distribution center. The Area Supervisor will directly manage up to 40 associates, ensuring their team meets production goals by planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving operational problems. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth within distribution center operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 1 - 3 years of supervisory/management experience in an automated distribution or production environment
Must be flexible to work multi-shifts in a fast-paced production environment
Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning and organization skills

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Radio Frequency and pick-to-light systems
MS Office Suite proficiency

Responsibilities

Ensure the work area is appropriately staffed for the assigned shift and that production, quality, and safety standards are maintained.
Provide orientation, coaching, and training to assigned personnel on department processes and systems, including corrective actions as appropriate.
Create a team environment through motivation, positive feedback, and active communication with associates.
Communicate effectively across departments within the distribution center to achieve daily operational goals.
Ensure housekeeping standards are met daily.
Conduct physical inspections of the assigned work area/equipment and prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Provide data input as needed for required reporting.
