About The Position

The LDRP Department Supervisor is responsible for organizing, supervising, and directing the delivery of quality patient care and coordinating department-based activities within the Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Departments. This role involves supervising nursing personnel, interpreting department policies and procedures, and participating in problem identification and investigation. The supervisor facilitates change and executes initiatives to achieve top percentile performance in patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction rankings across both Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Departments. They lead cooperation with the patient care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting and collaborate with other department supervisors in perinatal units to ensure optimal patient safety, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. The LDRP Department Supervisor must possess competencies in both labor and delivery and post-partum patient care and will lead these departments on their assigned shift when necessary. Compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act, Article 2, Section 2725 of the Business and Professions Code is required. Responsibilities

  • Organizing, supervising and directing the delivery of quality patient care and coordinating department-based activities.
  • Supervising nursing personnel in Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Departments.
  • Interpreting department policies and procedures.
  • Participating in identification and investigation of problems.
  • Facilitating change and executing initiatives to achieve top percentile performance in patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction rankings, in both Labor & Delivery and Post-Partum Departments.
  • Leading cooperation with patient care team to maintain standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
  • Collaborating with the department-specific department supervisors in all three perinatal units to achieve optimal patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
  • Possessing competencies in labor and delivery as well as post-partum care of patients.
  • Leading the L&D or Post-Partum Departments on their assigned shift when required.
  • Complying with the California Nurse Practice Act, Article 2, Section 2725 of the Business and Professions Code.
