This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by supporting the department with general clerical office duties, typing, filing, preparing materials, etc. requiring good knowledge of hospital programs, policies and procedures. The role involves performing secretarial duties for the department, greeting and directing customers, patients, physicians, community leaders, trustees, general public, staff and visitors. It also includes scheduling meetings and appointments, answering phones and directing calls, typing reports and documents, filing, and ordering supplies. The position requires adherence to Mercy's safety guidelines and prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions. Specific duties for the Women's Center include printing daily schedules, completing diagnostic workups, transcribing orders, calling "no show" patients to reschedule, accepting and processing payments, calling end of day appointments, and handling daily outgoing letters and mail. Occasional Saturday mornings may be required.
