About The Position

As a Department Sales Manager for Performance (Apparel, Footwear and Fanwear) at Team Town Sports, you will manage and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and a world-class retail environment while achieving sales and profitability goals. You will lead with passion, embodying the principles of the Game Ready Program, which is built on the same values that guide high performing teams in sports: preparation, consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3 - 4 years of retail management experience.
  • Embody our core principles bringing a friendly, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude to everything you do.
  • Creative abilities as they apply to visual merchandising.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on coaching and team development.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to connect with customers and team members alike.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities, with a focus on driving results.
  • In-depth product knowledge of performance apparel, footwear, and fanwear.
  • A passion for sports and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create an environment where the customer is at the centre of what we do.
  • Ensure sales staff maintain high service standards, offering personalized product recommendations and support.
  • Model customer service for associates and promote sales whenever interacting with associates and customers.
  • Ensure department is well stocked, priced and displayed per company standards to maximize the opportunity for sales.
  • Communicate regularly with management on product requests, outs, hot items and inventory concerns, as well as staffing requirements.
  • Ensure stockroom is maintained per the company standards.
  • Build a culture of engagement and accountability by fostering an inclusive team atmosphere where everyone knows their role and responsibilities.
  • Lead by example, setting high expectations for the team in terms of energy, effort, and attitude, ensuring all team members are 'Game Ready' each day.
  • Coach, develop, and mentor your team, sharing best practices and guiding them through continuous learning.
  • Manage department operations to maximize productivity and ensure profitability, following the systems and playbooks set by Team Town Sports.
  • Oversee inventory levels, ensuring proper replenishment and merchandising to meet sales targets.
  • Control inventory shortages by adhering to loss prevention practices and ensuring accurate stock management.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of all team members by ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
