About The Position

We are seeking a Hard Goods Department Manager to lead our Ski and Bikes team. This role involves creating a standout retail experience by blending a passion for the outdoors with operational expertise. The manager will act as a role model for customer service, foster a positive team environment, and partner with the assistant manager to achieve sales targets and manage team KPIs. Responsibilities include coaching the team on product knowledge, managing scheduling, inventory, and merchandising, executing visual merchandising standards, analyzing product needs, optimizing sales, acting as Manager on Duty, prioritizing health and safety, and supporting recruitment and staff development.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of retail leadership experience, with a proven track record of leading teams to hit goals and elevate customer experiences.
  • Results-driven, entrepreneurial, and motivated by challenges.
  • Strong communicator who knows how to motivate, engage, and get things done.
  • Organized multitasker who thrives on juggling priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with your assistant manager to achieve sales targets, manage team KPIs, and maximize profitability.
  • Coach your team to be product and trend experts, ensuring they’re equipped to guide customers to their perfect gear.
  • Manage scheduling, inventory, and merchandising to keep your department running smoothly and looking sharp.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, resolving issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction at every interaction.
  • Execute visual merchandising standards, including analyzing product needs and implementing weekly plans to optimize sales.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, leading by example in daily operations, motivating the team, and ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize health and safety by identifying workplace hazards, providing training, and adhering to Occupational Health and Safety standards.
  • Support recruitment, staff development, and performance appraisals to build a strong, high-performing team.
